Soooo ready!

In 2 days I'll officially be 40 weeks! Wow! It's really flown by....except for the past 2 weeks. It's been over 100 degrees in Dallas and the only place that I'm comfortable is Mom and Dad's pool. So that's where I spend all of my weekends. My right foot has been swelling - not sure why only the right one, but the Dr thinks it's how Sutton is positioned.

We got moved into our new house over Memorial Day weekend and we've been busy finishing up Sutton's nursery. I'll post some pics.

Kati came in town from Colorado this weekend. We're hoping Sutton shows his cute little face, but if not then hopefully I'll go in on Tuesday 7/7 for an induction. There is a chance that I could get bumped since it's an "elective" induction. So I'll just have to be patient - ha, yea right!

Les and I are trying to enjoy our last few days of being "childless". We've gone out to dinner and tried to get as much sleep as possible. My last day of work was yesterday (7/2) and I'm officially off until the end of September.

Contractions...what?!

Oh yes - 33 weeks and contractions. Here's the story...

It all started last Friday (5/15/09). I went to work and was having some upper tummy pain. Thought it was just indigestion. That evening, Les, Terri and I drove up to OKC for the baby shower weekend. On Friday night I was pretty much up and down not able to sleep b/c of the pain. It was a really tight feeling across my belly. Woke up Saturday morning and called my Dr in Dallas. He wanted me to get checked out before heading back to Dallas. So I headed to the baby shower and toughed out the pain.

After the shower, Les came over to Whit & Darla's house and drove me to Mercy Hospital - the same place that Terri, Kati and I were all born! Got admitted quickly and the nurses in Labor & Delivery hooked me and Sutton up to monitors. Sutton's heartbeat was pretty high at first, but he calmed down for the rest of the evening. He is a very active little guy and the nurse said he was doing great. As for me - they ran some tests and started monitoring my contractions! They were coming about every 3 minutes. It was wild...I would tell Les that I could feel one coming on and he would watch the monitor to tell me when it was over.

The contractions weren't really painful, just tight and uncomfortable. The nurses gave me a shot and the contractions went away. As they were about to release me an hour after the shot, the contractions started again! After another shot - they finally calmed down enough for them to release me.

We were there from 3:30 - 8:30pm. We went back to Mimi and Luke's house, picked up Masie, told my family goodbye and we headed to Dallas. Got home at 12:45am that night. We were all pretty worn out.

Sunday I layed low on the couch and felt great! However, that night the pain started again. So I went to see my Dr this morning. He checked me out and thinks it's just Braxton Hicks. Gave me a prescription for indigestion and said to try that for 1 week. Hopefully these will ease up, but I've heard they can last all the way until the baby comes.

We are moving this week too - which adds a whole other twist to things! I'm not supposed to pack or move anything. Which is really hard for me - I just can't sit still! Mom is going to help out a lot this week, and I already have a bunch packed up. I'll just sit as still as I can and tell people what to put where. Anxious to be settled in the new house, but will be super sad leaving Southwestern Blvd :( It's been a great house for the past 3 1/2 years, but glad we were able to sell something!

Off to bed. Good night!

Baby Showers

I've been so blessed to have had 2 baby showers so far - one given by all of my wonderful girlfriends and one given by my four amazing Aunts! Both have been more than I could've ever expected. Sutton is one lucky little boy - he has more clothes than Les and I put together, tons of toys and books, and anything he could ever need! I'll put some pics up from both showers.

26 weeks....

26 weeks down, 14 to go! Had a Dr appt yesterday and I'm measuring between 26-27 weeks - so doing pretty well. Also, I did my gestational diabetes test and it came back negative...whew! The sugary drink wasn't so bad - but having to chug it in 5 minutes was no fun! And then wait an hour until they took my blood. The things we go through for our kids :) So worth it!

I'm actually home sick today. Think it might be allergies, but hoping it's not a sinus infection. Mom came over and ate lunch with Les and I. We are trying to finalize the nursery fabrics. I think we have it down to a really bright colored stripe, bluish purple solid fabric, and black/white check. I've changed my mind several times, but think we're sticking with this one! I'll try to post some pics of the fabrics. Mom and I found a rocker for Sutton's room a couple weekends ago. It's so cute - black/white check and looks great in his room!

Heading to Colorado this weekend to see Kati and Petey. The boys will ski and Kati and I will shop. I hope to find somewhere to get a massage while I'm there :) I think I deserve it!

23 weeks and growing....

I'm officially 23 weeks today! Went to the Dr yesterday and heard little Sutton's heartbeat. It is the most amazing sound! He's been moving around a lot lately - I've heard that once he starts, it doesn't end until he arrives, which is fine by me!

This weekend Les and I did a garage sale with my parents. It was a HUGE success - baby furniture, here I come! This garage sale was a result of me cleaning out 4 closets, the pantry and anything else I could find to part with. I figured that we'd be collecting a lot of things over the next few years :)

Mom and I spend the last 2 weekends looking for fabric for Sutt's bedroom. I think we're going with a plaid, denim, black/white check pattern. Les bought a stuffed deer head to hang on the wall - fabulous, huh? Now I need to order the crib and pick out a glider, changing table and all that great stuff!

Right now I'm sitting on the couch relaxing with Masie - I wonder how she's going to handle things when little Sutton arrives? I'm sure she'll be a great big sister :)

New Blogger on Board!

So this is my very first post on our lovely little blog :) Not sure what to say except that I know some of my friends and family will be thrilled to get updates on here and some of my friends and family (including my husband) will think I'm a total dork! Oh well :)

I'm starting this to keep everyone up to date on our growing little family. Les and I are expecting Baby O in early July and we are thrilled! I'm a little over 13 weeks along and finally starting to feel better. The first few months were a little rough, but hopefully I'm over the tough part. I'm ready to start working out again and eating all of my favorite foods that haven't sounded good to me (especially chocolate!).

I hope ya'll find this blog entertaining - I'll try to make it as fun as possible :)
